New RAM 1500s come with a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Once these expire, all repair costs are your responsibility. An Athena extended warranty extends protection beyond factory coverage.
Multi-Displacement System (MDS) on HEMI engines deactivates cylinders to save fuel. The lifters in this system are prone to failure, especially on 2009-2019 models. Repair typically costs $2,800–$5,000. Our Deluxe and New Car Coverage plans cover this repair.
